“I would like to see our society treat the 1700-year history of the Jews in Germany with respect. I wish for Jewish life and Jewish culture in our country to seen as a matter of course. We should not only go in search of historic traces, but also engage in a dialogue with relevance to the present. Let us make this year of celebration an occasion to show Jewish life as a self-evident part of our society.”
